Often pegged as one of the most talented filmmakers of his generation, Denis Villeneuve has managed to compel both critics and audiences with his unique visual style and fresh approach to storytelling. His three first feature-length films, Un 32 août sur terre, Maelström and Polytechnique were presented and praised at numerous festivals. Villeneuve’s most recent opus, Incendies, an adaptation of Wajdi Mouawad’s play, is garnering international success. Nominated for Best Foreign Language film at the Academy Awards, it also won 8 Genie Awards and 9 trophies at the 2011 Jutra Awards.
