For almost 20 years, celebrated British creator Felix Barrett, founder and artistic director of the company Punchdrunk, has been redefining the classic theatre experience by transforming abandoned buildings into epic and sensory spaces where audiences can roam freely.

This personalized and interactive style of theatre rejects the passive obedience usually expected of audiences, inviting them to rediscover the childlike excitement of exploring the unknown. Along the way, the company and its artistic director have chalked up a string of hit shows and awards, with productions like The Duchess Of Malfi with the English National Opera, The Drowned Man: A Hollywood Fable, and the highly successful Sleep No More, a film noir adaptation of Macbeth that has been delighting audiences and critics (The New York Times, The Guardian, etc.) in New York and Shanghai since 2011. Sleep No More has won a Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience and a Special Citation For Design And Choreography at the Obie Awards.

Barrett has invented a genre of theatre that combines classic works, physical performances, cinematographic set design, and offbeat spaces that put audiences at the heart of the narrative.

Felix Barrett has been joined on stage by Hector Harkness, Associate Director for Punchdrunk International and director of Believe Your Eyes, a VR experience produced in partnership with Samsung Electronics America which was awarded a Silver Lion at the 2017 Cannes International Festival of Creativity.
