Niger-born Tuareg guitarist inspired by the wizardry of Saharan blues rock bands like Tinariwen, Omar Moctar (a.k.a. Bombino) has helped make African music more relatable to the rest of the world, thanks to both his own instrumental gifts and to collaborators like 2013 Grammy Award-winning Producer of the Year Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys who produced his last album Nomad, which was recorded at his Nashville studio.

His dazzling live performance and virtuosity on the guitar have led notable music critics to compare him to Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana, Neil Young, and Jerry Garcia.
