With a fresh yet nostalgic perspective on alternative pop, Montreal’s Caveboy root themselves in the timeless music of their parent’s generation and build to unforgettable chaos during their live performances.
The first years of the all-women trio were driven by electrifying performances at SXSW, Osheaga, Pride Toronto, the Pre-Grammy Celebration of Canadian Excellence, 2018 Juno Gala Awards (The Canadian Grammys), Halifax Pop Explosion, M for Montreal, and support performances for Japanese Breakfast, Tash Sultana, Tom Walker, Ria Mae, Cub Sport, and Wintersleep. Their songs have been heard in Orange Is The New Black, The New Romantic, and Killjoys. With a powerful live set not to be missed and a highly anticipated debut album - Caveboy is a band to keep an eye on.
The themes of Night in the Park, Kiss in the Dark are all extremely relatable, ranging from the longing for the simplicity of youth, to the struggles of never feeling truly seen or heard. Anthemic opening track “Silk for Gold” screams for joy that time has finally healed all wounds. The drama of second track “I Wonder” reflects on a romantic partnership slowly falling apart. Social media obsession is cheekily commented upon in “Hide Your Love.” The sonic world of the album is composed of Caveboy’s special brand of nostalgic alt-pop featuring powerful guitars, nouveau-retro synthesizers, throwback harmonies, energetic live drums, and sensational lyrical melodies that weave everything together.
Night in the Park, Kiss in the Dark is now available on all streaming platforms.
