As part of the Fantasmagories 3D programme of the 42nd Festival du nouveau cinéma, we are proud to present the Quebec premiere of Cochemare, Phi Films' latest short.
Directed by two internationally known directors, Chris Lavis and Maciek Szczerbowski (Madame Tutli-Putli, winner at Cannes, 2007), Cochemare shows us the hallucinations of a biologist as she is cut off from the world, alone in the International Space Station. Produced by Phoebe Greenberg and Penny Mancuso for Phi Films (Next Floor, Hope), the film stars Sylvie Moreau. The original score and music were composed by Patrick Watson.
Blending animation, live action, and stereoscopic 3D, Cochemare is an immersive, tactile, and sensory experience. As the viewer journeys from the mystical Forest of Storms to the orbiting International Space Station, the film forces us to confront our notions of voyeurism, femininity, and the separation of body and mind.
Chris Lavis and Maciek Szczerbowski present a bold new work – Cochemare: A study in mytho-erotic mania and isolation.
