John Derek Yancey, better known as Illa J & John Regal is a singer, songwriter, rapper, producer, multi instrumentalist and a fitness addict from Detroit. He is a former member of legendary group Slum Village and the younger brother of Hip Hop icon J Dilla (James Dewitt Yancey).

The Marshens

The Marshens is a Canadian-American band consisting of four members; Illa J (US), Atamone (CAN), Fawna (CAN), and L.E.K.(CAN). Their sound is an eclectic mixture of alternative hip hop, rnb-soul, electronic and pop rock. The music is composed and produced by Atamone, Illa J & L.E.K. Fawna and Illa J are the bands' writers and vocalists. As a unit The Marshens are a new face but individually all members have been around performing and recording music.
