For thirty years, this British artist and technician has worked on the industry’s most prestigious film and television projects, including Sicario, 12 Years a Slave, Shame, and Hunger.

Taking us on an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the film industry, Walker promises to reveal the secrets of the editing room. The last link in the production chain, the editor works in the shadows, shaping movies into their final form - selecting, combining, and ordering scenes like an artist assembling a visual masterpiece.

Following the hectic days of filming, the editing process is often a time of quiet contemplation, with the editor and director doing an intimate creative dance. When the experience is repeated film after film, as is the case with Joe Walker and director Steve McQueen, this partnership can mirror that of a married couple with all of its compromises, sacrifices, doubts, and moments of bliss.

The conversation will be held in English and will be moderated by author Samuel Archibald.

This event will be filmed, and webcast on a future date. A photographer will also be onsite.
