August 1915. When coming back from a walk, Louis XIV feels a sharp pain in his leg. The days go on and he keeps on with his King’s obligations, but his nights are agitated. The fever is gaining over him. He starts eating less and is getting weaker every day. It’s the beginning of the slow agony of this King of France, surrounded by his family, friends and doctors.
