Currently on a world tour for his latest release Twice Around the Sun, the Montrealer Guillaume Coutu-Dumont, based in Berlin, will present a unique performance in his home-town. He will be sharing the stage with Vincent Lemieux, with whom he forms Flabbergast.
Guillaume, being one of Mutek Festival's discoveries of the last decade, is pursuing a prolific career in Europe for the last few years. On his third album under Guillaume & The Coutu-Dumonts, he continues his exploration of submersive and contagious house music.
Initiating his career as a funk-percussionist, Guillaume Coutu-Dumont seeks variations of classical and latin percussion, incorporating it into electro-acoustic compositions. After completing two albums with a contemporary jazz ensemble, it is the influence of techno and musique concrète that carried him into electronic-music production. He is part of several other projects, such as Egg with Julien Roy, Chic Miniature with Ernesto Ferreyra or Flabbergast with Vincent Lemieux.
Twice around the sun will be available on October 8, 2012 under Circus Company.
