5% of music producers are women even though many of the most bankable pop stars are female. Only 6 women have ever been nominated for a Producer of the Year Grammy, and no woman has ever won. Juno award-winning Kinnie Starr is on a quest to find out what does it take for a woman to make it in music. The revelations in Play Your Gender around the underrepresentation of women in the music industry sparks a conversation that has echoes across other industries including women in film.
