An evening with a master of editing! For thirty years, this British artist and technician has worked on the industry’s most prestigious film and television projects. Furthermorehe is as charming, funny and generous as you might expect, as we had the chance to find out during this talk, moderated by Samuel Archibald, from our In Conversation series.

Admired by his peers and praised by juries, Joe Walker is a fixture at every international events, from the Academy Awards to the BAFTAs, the European Film Awards, the ACE Eddie, and the Critics’ Choice. Walker has edited all of Steve McQueen’s films, beginning with Hunger (2008), the movie that launched the career of actor Michael Fassbender and won the Cannes Caméra d’Or. He also edited Shame and 12 Years a Slave. In 2015, after a fruitful collaboration on the thriller Sicario, Walker again teamed up with Denis Villeneuve for the science fiction thriller Arrival, starring Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner. The movie will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and will hit theatres in November.
